Toyota is a Japanese car company that has appeared in the series except for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, where their luxury marque Lexus was instead featured.

It is famous for building affordable family cars, such as the Corolla, which is the world's best-selling vehicle nameplate, with over 40 million cars sold worldwide. In the past, it is also famous for creating three sports cars: the MR2 (a compact sports car with a mid-engine layout), the Celica (a compact liftback sports car, famous for winning rallies), and the Supra (a grand tourer, with production being revived in 2019). Today, Toyota puts emphasis on eco-friendly and hybrid cars, which dates back to 1997 when Toyota introduced the Prius, the world's first mass-produced hybrid car.

Along with Mazda, Toyota is a Gran Turismo World Series sponsor, granting them guaranteed entry in the Manufacturer's Cup. Through their Gazoo Racing division, Toyota also organized the Toyota Gazoo Racing GT Cup e-sports series from 2019 to 2024.
